NEW ENGLAND SERIAL KILLER FEARS SPARK CONCERN AFTER MULTIPLE BODIES FOUND AMID ONLINE SPECULATION

TAUNTON, MASSACHUSETTS – Concerns about a potential serial killer in New England have intensified after the discovery of multiple bodies across three states since early March. On Friday afternoon, the body of SAMUEL STOVALL, 51, of Taunton, was found in Mill River by walkers. BRISTOL COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY THOMAS M. QUINN III confirmed Stovall’s identity, noting that he was homeless and known to local law enforcement. While the death is not currently deemed suspicious, an investigation remains ongoing.

The discovery of Stovall’s body is among a total of 11 found in CONNECTICUT, RHODE ISLAND, and MASSACHUSETTS since March, fueling widespread online speculation about a serial killer in the region. Despite the rumors, police departments have denied any connection between the cases.

Last Tuesday, MEGGAN MEREDITH, 45, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was found dead and identified earlier this week. HAMPDEN DISTRICT ATTORNEY ANTHONY D. GULLUNI addressed the growing concerns, urging the public to avoid spreading unverified claims that could compromise active investigations. “While online conversations around these incidents continue to grow, we urge the public to be mindful of the role that social media can play in spreading fear or misinformation,” said Gulluni.

In another case, the remains of a Rhode Island woman missing since July were recently found in Foster. Her family has vehemently denied any connection to serial killer theories. Additionally, the body of PAIGE FANNON, 35, was discovered in the Norwalk River in Connecticut in early March. The State of Connecticut Medical Examiners’ Office has yet to complete its investigation, but Connecticut State Police have stated there is no indication of foul play or a link to any other deaths.

TED WILLIAMS, a former Washington, D.C. homicide detective and attorney, emphasized the unusual nature of the findings. “Anytime you find 10 bodies in any geographical location, it is very concerning to law enforcement,” Williams told Fox News Digital. He suggested that law enforcement agencies across New England are likely collaborating to determine if there is a connection between the cases. “I would absolutely have to believe that in the New England corridor, where these bodies have come up, that there is communication between law enforcement agencies to try to show if there is an actual nexus between the bodies and a specific, should we say, serial killer,” Williams said.

As investigations continue, officials are urging the public to rely on verified information and avoid contributing to unnecessary panic.
