Mississippi Man Charged With Attempted Theft Of Delivery Order From Former Deputy Brad Sullivan

A Mississippi man is facing charges following an alleged attempt to steal a delivery order from a customer, who turned out to be former Madison County Deputy Sheriff Brad Sullivan. The incident occurred in Jackson, Mississippi, involving 30-year-old Terel Tywan Hampton.

Brad Sullivan, who was left partially paralyzed after being shot in the head twice during a 2019 chase involving a kidnapping suspect, contacted the Madison Police Department on Monday. According to a report by WLBT, a Jackson-based NBC affiliate, Sullivan stated that his delivery driver, identified on an app as Dennis K, denied having the order and refused to deliver it to him.

The incident unfolded after Sullivan placed an order at Academy Sports. Store management confirmed that Dennis K had picked up the order, as stated in a press release by the Madison Police Department. However, shortly after the pickup, the order was inexplicably canceled. Sullivan confirmed he had not canceled it personally.

Law enforcement, in collaboration with the store, investigated the matter and confirmed that Hampton left the store with Sullivan‘s purchased items. Shortly afterward, officers located and stopped Hampton in his 2016 Chevrolet Impala. Upon inspection, officers found the merchandise, which included two shirts, two pairs of shoes, and a pair of shorts intended for Sullivan‘s son. Authorities also discovered marijuana and a firearm in the vehicle.

Terel Tywan Hampton was arrested and charged with petit larceny, improper equipment, and possession of marijuana while in possession of a firearm.

Both Deputy Brad Sullivan and the Madison Police Department declined to provide additional comments when approached by Fox News Digital.
