PAM BONDI, the Attorney General, announced on Tuesday that federal charges have been filed against a suspect accused of setting a brand-new Tesla Cybertruck on fire in Arizona. The accused, IAN MOSES, 35, was initially charged with arson of a structure and property.
In addition to allegedly igniting the vehicle, Moses is accused of writing “THEIF” (sic) on the side of the dealership where the arson took place. “If you engage in domestic terrorism, this Department of Justice will find you, follow the facts, and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law. No negotiating,” Bondi stated in a post on X.
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. on Monday near the Tesla Service Center in Mesa, Arizona. Responding officers discovered smoke and flames emanating from the Cybertruck, according to the Mesa Police Department.
Video footage from affiliate KSAZ-TV showed authorities surrounding the dealership and taping off the charred vehicle. Moses was later identified through security photos and was found near a suspicious van in the vicinity. No injuries were reported.
This attack follows a series of violent incidents targeting ELON MUSK‘s companies, seemingly in protest of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Earlier, on April 18, a Missouri Tesla dealership was firebombed, allegedly by a college student on spring break. KASH PATEL, FBI Director, condemned the actions as “dangerous and illegal,” vowing to collaborate with the Department of Justice to hold perpetrators accountable.
