Climate Activists Vandalize Tesla Dealership in Manhattan on Earth Day, Arrested by Police

In a bold act of protest, climate activists targeted a Tesla car dealership in Manhattan on Tuesday, spray-painting vulgar messages on the showroom’s windows. The incident occurred on Earth Day, an annual event dedicated to environmental protection, and coincided with growing tensions over ELON MUSK’s leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). As police arrived, the activists were seen attempting to clean off some of the graffiti.

The Manhattan showroom, located in the Meat Packing District between Washington Street and W 13th Street, is the latest Tesla location to be targeted by anti-Musk and anti-DOGE protesters. Video footage captured two maskless men scrawling phrases like “F—k DOGE” and “We do not consent” on the store’s windows using fluorescent red and green spray paint. Several DOGE signs were also marked with red lines, resembling a “no” or prohibited symbol.

The group responsible for the vandalism appears to be affiliated with EXTINCTION REBELLION, a climate activist organization known for its disruptive tactics and use of non-violent civil disobedience to protest political inaction on climate change. The New York City chapter of the group later boasted about the incident on social media platform X, claiming responsibility for the act.

Police arrested the two individuals at the scene. One of the activists, a younger man wearing a pink t-shirt with the words “Climate Change = Mass Murder” on the back, defended his actions, stating, “Because people do not consent to unelected fascists, and this is Earth Day.”

This incident is part of a broader wave of attacks on Tesla vehicles, dealerships, and charging stations across the U.S. this year. These acts range from minor vandalism, such as keying and graffiti, to more severe cases like arson and drive-by shootings. In one notable incident on March 18, 36-year-old PAUL HYON KIM allegedly used a Molotov cocktail to set fire to several Teslas at a Las Vegas dealership. Similarly, four Tesla Cybertrucks were torched in Seattle last month, and two others caught fire at a Kansas City dealership.

PAMELA BONDI, the Attorney General, has stated that the Department of Justice is treating these attacks as acts of domestic terrorism. Several federal lawsuits have been filed in connection with the incidents.

The vandalism in Manhattan also follows EXTINCTION REBELLION’s claim of responsibility for spray-painting Wall Street’s iconic Raging Bull statue earlier on Tuesday. The group continues to advocate for urgent action on climate change, though their methods remain controversial.
