A 23-year-old man from Malibu, California, **FRASER BOHM**, has been ordered to stand trial on charges of murder and vehicular manslaughter following a high-speed crash that claimed the lives of four Pepperfield University students. The tragic incident occurred on October 17, 2023, on the Pacific Coast Highway, according to reports from **FOX 11**.
Prosecutors allege that **BOHM** was driving at speeds between 93 and 104 mph in a 45 mph zone when his BMW crashed into three parked vehicles. The victims, identified as **NIAMH ROLSTON**, 20, **PEYTON STEWART**, 21, **ASHA WEIR**, 21, and **DESLYN WILLIAMS**, 21, were all members of the same sorority. The crash took place around 8:30 p.m. on a section of the highway known as Dead Man’s Curve.
**BOHM**’s attorney, **MICHAEL KRAUT** of Kraut Law Group, stated that the case is highly unusual, as it is rare for a defendant to face murder charges in such circumstances. **KRAUT** emphasized that the evidence presented during the preliminary hearing did not meet the high standard required for a murder conviction. He also highlighted that one witness admitted to chasing **BOHM** in a road rage incident, which may have contributed to the crash.
**KRAUT** further argued that **BOHM** was driving at approximately 70 mph, not 104 mph, at the time of the crash. He cited witness testimony and video evidence showing that **BOHM** was forced to swerve after being blinded by another vehicle’s headlights. The attorney described the case as a tragedy for all parties involved, including the victims’ families and **BOHM**’s own family.
The case has drawn significant attention, with **BOHM**’s arraignment scheduled for July 1. **FOX NEWS** has reached out to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for further comment.
