North Carolina authorities have apprehended two individuals in connection with a harrowing home invasion and kidnapping incident in Garner. PAOLA DURAN DURAN, 25, and MIGUEL ANGEL DURAN DURAN, 23, are facing multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree kidnapping and one count of second-degree kidnapping. A third suspect, ELEODORO LEO ESTRADA-HERNANDEZ, remains at large and is actively being pursued by law enforcement.
The incident unfolded on Monday when the suspects allegedly forced their way into a Garner home armed with firearms and demanded $1 million from the victim’s husband. When he refused, they restrained him with duct tape and abducted his wife and their 11-month-old daughter, fleeing the scene in a black Nissan, according to reports from [WNCN](https://www.wncn.com).
The victims were safely recovered on Tuesday after a Wake Forest resident reported that a woman with a baby had sought help at her home. The Garner Police Department credited the swift resolution to “incredible collaborative investigative efforts,” which led to the arrest of the two suspects within 24 hours. Both individuals are currently being held at the Wake County Detention Center.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers have been lodged against the suspects, and the FBI and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation have joined the search for ESTRADA-HERNANDEZ. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, and he faces charges including two counts of first-degree kidnapping, one count of second-degree kidnapping, felony firearm possession, and two counts of assault by pointing a firearm.
