A Delta Air Lines flight was evacuated moments before takeoff at Orlando International Airport in Florida on Monday after flames were observed erupting from one of the aircraft’s engines. The incident, involving **Delta Flight 1213** bound for Atlanta, occurred while the plane was on the tarmac, leading to the deployment of emergency slides for passenger evacuation.
Videos captured by witnesses inside the airport showed passengers swiftly exiting the Airbus A330 via the emergency slides. Shortly after, flames were seen shooting out from one of the plane’s engines. The aircraft was carrying 200 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and two pilots at the time of the incident, according to a Delta spokesperson.
The fire originated in the tailpipe of one of the A330’s two engines, prompting the flight crew to initiate evacuation procedures. Fortunately, there were no initial reports of injuries. Passengers were escorted back to the terminal, where Delta provided food and beverages. The airline assured that passengers would be rebooked on a different aircraft to continue their journey to Atlanta.
